I am interested in materials and processes in making and apply these to various techniques such as embroidery, constructed textiles and works on paper. Whether working with thread, fibre or harder materials I explore ideas that relate to transitions in life and nature, and look at external issues such as climate change, that have real impacts on our daily lives. I will be showing work that is mainly abstract, as I am concerned with process and gesture when using certain materials, and seek to reflect thoughts about nature using the needle, thread, drawing and collaging. The starting point is often drawing which broadens out to be more spontaneous uses of the materials at hand.
