Lenny Cornforth

West Berkshire-based artist and studio owner Lenny Cornforth studied Fine Art at Newcastle University. Drawing inspiration from her experience within the framing industry Cornforth uses traditional techniques to create untraditional surfaces and textures. This unusual approach to surface, an interest in the layering of colour and texture, features prominently in each painting. Cornforth Studios supports space for up to 6 artists as well as a flexible exhibition space.

In 2019 I have introduced new elements into my work...use of colour (as against black and white)...pencil (as against acrylic paint)...paper (as against canvas)...scale (from small to large)...and variety of subject matter, from Greek doorways to wild dogs, water buffalo to Frida Kahlo!

Hedley Smyth

My work tries to capture urban atmosphere: using combinations of newspaper or tissue on canvas, oil, acrylic, commercial paints and sometimes fabric dyes on canvass. The work is based upon city and urban locations, where the atmosphere and life is portrayed in layers to suggest structure and distance. The few artefacts, such as street objects in space also reference time, while people or moving objects give a prevailing sense of perceived place as made and experienced by people.

Katherine Tattersdill

I am an abstract fine art painter fascinated by patterns, colours and biological motifs. My work is surreal, meditative and concerned with the implications of making handmade art in the digital age. In the last few years I have been experimenting with relief effects and finding different ways to reach out to the viewer, aiming to keep the work feeling accessible even as the image leads the eye into a different space.
