Isn't it Strange, acrylic on board, 40.5cm x 40.5cm.
Isolation, acrylic on canvas, 70cm x 70cm.
Working with bands of undulating colour, the paintings are developed through instinctive colour decisions, alongside an unapologetic attention to the potential of aesthetic form. Translucent shapes flicker and merge across each canvas.

I relocated to Newbury from Newcastle upon Tyne with my husband and daughter in 1987. I've seen the town grow and change over the last 30 years but the iconic buildings and architecture have remained unchanged. I have drawn and painted all my life and particularly like the style of vintage 30's and 40's travel posters. My artwork draws inspiration from them and from the beautiful market town in which we live.

Angela has an infinity with all elements of Sea, Coastscapes and the moody, unpredictability of nature. She uses tones to represent gentle waters and stormy seas. Often suggesting a transition between realism and abstraction using her collection of many coastline sketches, photographs and memory, producing contrasts between light/dark and the physicality of her mixed-media images.
