“All visitors to my studio love to hear about the problems of producing a painting. Especially about the accidents and mistakes I make and how I try to put them right.” Nick Schlee
This exhibition aims to give gallery visitors an insight into the painting process, and how to see the landscape with the eyes of an artist. Preliminary sketches are hung alongside completed works and informative picture captions and information panels describe the thinking behind the paintings.
Nick Schlee invites you to ‘see with the eyes of an artist’ in these two engaging workshops on 6 and 7 May.
Day 1 (6 May) will see artists outdoors, discovering the rhythms and colour in the landscape and recording them in colour sketches.
Day 2 (7 May) will have the group working from these drawings to produce oil or acrylic paintings with Nick’s guidance.
Places cost £15 per day or £25 for both days. Contact Arlington Arts Centre Box Office on 01635 244246.
