Isabel, Christine and Kate return to The Chapel at Newtown Road cemetery. Their collaborative artwork project this year takes its inspiration from local environments.
Isabel keeps developing her drawing and has experimented this year with silkscreen printing based on her on location sketches.
Her watercolour work is linked to her loose drawing practice.
This year she visited Oxford, Newbury, Suffolk and enjoyed a roadtrip through Spain and France.
Isabel teaches watercolours in sketching througout the year in various urban locations.
Christine continues to explore ceramic techniques in stoneware and porcelain clays this year with an emphasis on form and function. Terra sigillata and smoke firing are her specialty when creating vessels and sculptures inspired by line form and texture found within the environment. Christine runs regular ceramic workshops throughout the year from her studio. (See entry 73).
Floral painting remains Kate’s main pursuit whilst developing landscape painting and printmaking. Trying to work under the premise of chiaroscuro in all subjects the aim is to capture character through light and dark. Kate is taking part in the Cover to Cover sketchbook project again this year and in addition will also be exhibiting at Newbury Central Library. (See entry 76).
